PORTSMOUTH — A 21-year-old Portsmouth woman was arrested last week on a domestic violence charge.

At about 3:20 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, officers responded to 23 Gildas Lane to investigate a report of a domestic argument, according to police.

When they arrived, officers separated multiple people for interviews, and later determined that probable cause existed to charge Kaila Elizabeth Johnson, of that address, with domestic assault, first offense.

The victim was a 28-year-old Portsmouth man, police said.

Here are some other recent arrests from the Portsmouth Police logs:

Saturday, Feb. 3

S. Leppy McCarthy, 71, of 72 Warner St., Newport, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI, first offense), after being pulled over on West Main Road around 12:30 a.m. because the vehicle’s lights were not on, police said. McCarthy was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, according to police.

Sunday, Feb. 4

Brianne Nicole Allain, 30, of 549 North Main St., Apt. 1E, Fall River, was charged with DUI, first offense, at about 1:15 a.m. Officers responded to Hummock Avenue, at the Route 24 North off-ramp, to assist with a disabled motor vehicle. When they arrived, they found Nicole sleeping in the driver’s seat, according to police. Nicole was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Kevin Moniz Cunha, 48, of 27 South St., Pawtucket, was charged with being a fugitive of justice after being pulled over on West Main Road at Raytheon Co. shortly after noon. During a routine records check, officers learned that Cunha had an active affidavit and arrest warrant originating from the Seekonk Police Department, police said. He was taken to the police station and placed in a cell to await his arraignment, police said.
