Queen Margaret (Horsfall) Taft, 98, of Norton, Mass., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at Wingate Residences of Norton in Norton, Mass.

Born on Jan. 16, 1920 in Patch Grove, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Ball) Horsfall.

A graduate of Patch Grove High School, she worked for thirty years as a technical underwriter for the Aetna Insurance Company before retiring. Before living in Norton, Mrs. Taft had resided in Barrington.

She was an ardent reader who enjoyed crafts, line dancing, and an occasional visit to Foxwoods. More than anything, she cherished spending time with her family.

She leaves her loving daughter, Laurel A. Curran of Norton, Mass., and was the adoring grandmother of Brian P. Curran, Kathleen M. Aguiar, and Jennifer E. Cooney, and the proud great-grandmother of Addison, Sean, Andrew, Julianne, Matthew, and Katherine. Mrs. Taft was the sister of James Horsfall of Madison, Wis., Calvin Horsfall of Bloomington, Wis., and Paul Horsfall of Lansing, Iowa. She was predeceased by her siblings: David Horsfall, Harold Horsfall, Ralph Horsfall, Grace Martin, Marion Manion, Lela Johnson, and Robert Horsfall.  She leaves numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends, both near and far, and was the former wife of the late Lawrence H. Taft. She was the longtime companion of the late Thomas "Fent" Stevenson.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to honor and remember Mrs. Taft at a visitation on Monday, Feb. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, immediately followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.

A children's room is available during the visitation and funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
