Each week the Personal Injury Law Offices of d’Oliviera & Associates compiles a summary of recalls, FDA warnings, market withdrawals and safety alerts that they feel the public should be aware of for their safety and so that they can make informed decisions.

Here are 25 recalls to be aware this week.

Medical Devices

• Telefax Medical recalled their medical device LMA MAD Intranasal Mucosal Atomization Device - commonly used to deliver opioid overdose reversal medicine such as Narcan.

Auto

• Mercedes-Benz recalled 2017 E-class cars for potential stalling.


• BMW recalled 136,000 cars for fuel leaks and stalling.


• The New York Times reported concerns about used cars for sale that are slipping past recall safeguards – putting motorists at risk.

Motorcycle/Scooters

• KTM North America recalled closed-course/competition off-road motorcycles - the front brake master cylinder can malfunction.


• Polaris recalled Slingshot motorcycles with swing arm issue - the swing arm may have insufficient strength and possibly fracture - resulting in a loss of momentum or vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.


• Polaris recalled model year 2015-2017 Slingshot motorcycles - may have insufficient clearance between the fuel line and the hood structure, which could allow the fuel line to rub against the hood until it leaks fuel and potentially cause a fire.


• Polaris recalled Model year 2016-2017 Slingshot motorcycles recalled - the brake fluid may leak, resulting in reduced brake performance.

Utility/Recreational Vehicles & Automotive Accessories

• King Aire motorhomes, model year 2017, have been recalled - the recalled vehicles are equipped with WABCO OnGuard collision mitigation radar which may have been mounted upside down on the front lower bumper, resulting in decreased performance.

Food, Beverage & Nutritional Supplements

• ICAPP recalls frozen strawberries - the FDA is investigating an outbreak of Hepatitis A.


• AC Creamery Inc. is recalling its 16 ounce packages of "Manila Sky Purple Yumm Ice Cream" because they have the potential to be contaminated with listeria.


• OLMA-XXI, Inc. recaled two smoked fish products because of possible listeria contamination.


• McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams recalled select 16oz. packages due to possible listeria contamination.


• Select Whole Foods Market stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, New Jersey, Virginia and Washington D.C. are voluntarily recalling batches of its Chocolate Croissants because the product contains eggs and the ingredient was not declared on product packaging.


• Crescent Vending Company recalled sandwiches, bagels and other foods because they contain undeclared allergens -  wheat, soy, milk, or egg.

Infant & Children Products

• Roots recalled various baby and toddler products - the metal snaps on the products may fall off resulting in a choking hazard for children.


• Dr. Seuss children’s footed sleepwear recalled - the products do not meet the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear

Sporting Equipment

• Running Trainer recalled bicycles due to fall hazard; sold exclusively at Run4.com. The pedals can detach from the bicycle, posing a fall hazard to riders.


• Trek recalled Farley bicycles due to fall hazard. The fork can separate from the steer tube, posing a fall hazard to the rider.


• Fox Factory recalled mountain bike shock absorbers - the bicycle’s rear shock absorber outer sleeve can rupture, allowing the sleeve to come in to contact with other bicycle parts or the rider, posing a fall and injury hazard.

Household Products & Appliances

• Samsung initiated a massive washing machine recall - the recall includes 2.8 million washing machines sold in the U.S. The CPSC warns the tops of the machines can come loose during use and cause injuries.


• Pier 1 Imports recalled glass knobs - the knobs can break while in use, posing a risk of laceration.


• Kikkerland Design recalled teapots with stands - the bamboo votive stand can catch fire, posing a fire hazard. The teapots, manufactured in China, were sold at Amazon retailers, Cost Plus World Market, Uncommon Goods and Urban Outfitters and online at Amazon.com.


• Midea corporation issued a recall of 3.4 million dehumidifiers, sold in the USA, after it received 38 reports of fires. $4.8 Million in property damage reported

Industrial/Tools

• Livos Canada recalls SVALOS 222 tool cleaner and thinner - the recalled products pose aspiration hazards.
