A home on Rumstick Road sold for $5.6 million on Monday, July 17.

According to the real estate agencies involved, the sale price is the highest ever for a home in Barrington.

Located toward the southern end of Rumstick Road, the 5,100-square foot home sits on 2.98 acres and features views of Smith Cove.

The house, named “Windy Acres,” has five bedrooms, a pool, spa, cabana, and a boat mooring in Smith Cove. It underwent an extensive renovation over the last two years.

According to Compass, which represented the seller, the property was under agreement after just four days on the market and closed for $150,000 more than its list price of $5,450,000.

Elizabeth Kirk and Lisa Schryver represented the seller.

“It was truly an honor to be selected to represent a property of this caliber,” said Kirk. “Lisa and I are beyond grateful to our clients, who trusted us through the process of this market-defining sale. All are thrilled with the results and we could not be more excited to have identified the next steward for ‘Windy Acres.’”

The buyers were represented by Kim Ide of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty.

“This shingle style home with flawless architectural features is the perfect combination of elegance and enjoyment,” said Ide. “I am thrilled to have been able to secure it for my clients.”

According to the deed filed by the town clerk’s office, the buyers are Michael Baker and Tracey Pereira-Baker, of Rumstick Point Split Purchase.

The seller was Jill E. Sutton Trust. Sutton has owned the property since 2018.
