RI Walks Challenge has scavenger hunts across the state

The Rhode Island Walks Challenge is a scavenger hunt hiking adventure for all ages. Explore more than 30 trails throughout Rhode Island as you try to find 30+ "creatures". Participants are challenged to find all 34 charming sculptures resembling sweetgum seed pods, chanterelle mushrooms, black oak leaves, honey mushrooms, and more. Each creature features a unique QR code, allowing you to track your progress and learn more about each plant.

As participants seek out the sculptures, they embark on a delightful adventure to find all 30+ creatures hidden across the state. Participants are also encouraged to share their discoveries on social media by tagging @RI.walks and using #RIWalksChallenge.

For more information about the #RIWalksChallenge, including how to set up your account and trails where you can find a creature, visit https://www.riwalks.org/challenge-creatures.php or contact Virginia Streeter at vstreeter@rilandtrusts.org.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
