Robert F. Kittell , 89, of Warren, died peacefully Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Arliene (Paulin) Kittell and the late Vivian (Barber) Kittell.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles F. and Catherine (Taylor) Kittell, Robert was a Lineman and Crew Leader for the former Narragansett Electric Company, now National Grid, for over 39 years before retiring. Mr. Kittell was a Corporal in the U.S. Army, serving as a Medical Technician during the Korean War.

Robert was a Warren resident for over 70 years, coming from Providence. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He was an avid car enthusiast and also enjoyed sailing. Mr. Kittell was a member of the Bristol County Elks #1860, the American Legion and the V.F.W.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Kathryn Kittell and Keith E. Kittell, both of Warren; and a brother, Edward Kittell of Cranston. He was the grandfather of Michael Kittell and Katie Marie DiOrio, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Kittell was the father of the late Robert Kittell and Cynthia Kittell. He was the brother of the late Wesley Kittell.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 9 a.m. from Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., Warren. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, East Greenwich, RI. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Monday, April 23, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m.
