Robert Higgins, 47, of Warren, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, in a construction accident in Boston. He was a son of Robert Higgins and Joyce and Gerald Biancuzzo.

A lifelong resident of Warren, Robby loved sports, especially football, which he played for the Warren High School team from 1983 to 1987 as #20. He enjoyed fishing and clamming, giving a helping hand to his neighbors on Barden Lane, and he was always there with a smile, kind words, and the best hugs. He helped local kids at the Kids Federation with wrestling. He was a laborer for Atlantic Drain Service.

Besides his parents, he leaves his beloved sister, Jennifer Lewis and her husband David, as well as their children Adeline and Reid; an aunt, Debra Aguiar; aunt and uncle Marilyn and Martin Hewitt; godparents Sandra and Rocco Pardi; and many cousins, including Ashley and Maggie Hewitt, Marianne Newell and Tara Charette.

Arrangements were with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services. Funeral services, with a Mass of Christian burial, were Wednesday, Oct. 26, in St. Mary of the Bay Church, Main Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Warren Animal Shelter, 1 Joyce St., Warren, RI 02885, or Warren Pop Warner Youth Football. See www.active.com/donate/WarrenSwanseaRedskins.

He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
