Roland Patrick “Butch” Grant, 71, of Tiverton

Roland Patrick “Butch” Grant, 71 years old, of Tiverton, R.I., passed away on July 17, 2018. in Tiverton.

A memorial Mass will be on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church in Tiverton. Arrangements are by Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Rd., Tiverton RI.

Butch was born in Fall River, Mass., to Helen Celia (LeBlanc) Grant and the late Francis Roland Grant on Oct. 19, 1946. Butch graduated from Durfee High School in Fall River, Mass. He attended Roger Williams College.

Throughout his life, he worked a variety of jobs, including a self-employed carpenter, bridge painter and worked on oil fields in Alaska. Butch was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Butch was an active member of St. Theresa’s and served as anusher. Butch loved animals, the American Indian culture, and had a passion for nature and history.

Butch is survived by his wife Linda Grant, son Jason Grant, mom Helen Grant and siblings: William Grant (Michele Grant), Sharon Gagne, Richard Grant (Arlene Grant), Nancy Wood (Warren Wood) and Kathleen Reynolds.

All family and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Butch’s memory. www.almeida-pocasset.com.
