Sadie “Conceicao” Gomes, 102, passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 1. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Medeiros. She is reunited with her loving husband, the late Antonio Gomes. Sadie was also the sister of the late Mary Ferreira and Emily Duchesne.
Sadie is survived by her son, Hermano Gomes (Azores, Portugal) and daughter, Julieta Carreiro of Bristol. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Gene Carreiro (his wife Carol), Debbie Carreiro Haltom (her husband Eric), Margarida Gomes, and Luis Gomes. She will also be missed by her four great grandchildren, Mariana Ormonde, Carolina Ormonde, Jack Haltom and Brooke Haltom.
Calling Hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren. Her funeral will be held at 7:30 a.m. at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, followed by a catholic mass at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bristol.
