Schoolyard Market

Posted

Come for breakfast, stay for lunch, leave with dinner! Schoolyard Market is a summertime farmers-makers market at Hope & Main featuring a dynamic lineup of Rhode Island and Massachusetts-based food, beverage and artisan vendors! Find hundreds of locally grown produce, coffee, tea, baked goods, confections, meats, seafood, pet treats, body care products, kitchen wares and more.

This market is unique. This marketplace is more than shopping. Visitors are invited to get involved! Help start-up companies in our Incubator Program grow and develop by providing feedback, dig into a hands-on workshop or get inspired at one of our demonstrations or talks.

Find us in the former schoolyard of our century-old building, the Town of Warren’s old Main Street School.

Visit by car, bike, bus or on foot! Parking is plentiful in our beautiful, walkable neighborhood, including nearby municipal lots. We’re also a convenient stop on the RIPTA #60 line and we’re at the Franklin Street intersection of the East Bay Bike Path.

Well-behaved, leashed pets welcome.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
