SEEKONK — Darren is a sweet 2-year-old, gray and white domestic shorthaired male cat. This friendly boy loves to be pet and he enjoys playing with his toys.

Darren was surrendered because his owner could no longer care for him and the other pets in the home. He seems to get along fine with other cats and previously lived with multiple dogs. He is up to date on all vaccines & tests and has been neutered and micro-chipped.

If you would like to meet Darren, please stop by the Seekonk Animal Shelter, 100 Peck Street, Seekonk, 1-508-336-6663. Open daily 2-4 p.m., except Wednesday 3-6 p.m.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
