The Barrington High School girls basketball team opened a six-point halftime lead and powered to a 59-46 victory over Smithfield in a Division I game on Monday night, Dec. 17.
Senior guard Olivia Middleton led all scorers with 25 points, including 12 from behind the three-point arc. Olivia also had 10 assists and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.
Cary Heterick pitched with 11 points for the Eagles and Alex Marinelli and Alexis Malnerich each finished with eight points. Elizabeth McConaghy scored seven points for Barrington.
Riley Hart led the Sentinels with 20 points.
The victory over Smithfield followed a 54-49 win over East Greenwich on Thursday night, Dec. 13. The Eagles had trailed the Avengers by four points at halftime.
Middleton led the Eagles in scoring, finishing the game with 17 points. Marinelli knocked down 4 three-pointers and finished the game with 16 points, while Malnerich had seven points.
Barrington's record is 2-0 in the division and 3-1 overall.
