Volunteers needed for Barrington boards and commissions

Are you interested in sports and recreation? Do you care about the environment? 

Right now the town is looking for volunteers to serve on a variety of boards and commissions. In fact, there are openings on seven boards or commissions. 

• Board of Assessment Review: 1 vacancy (first alternate)

• Conservation Commission: 1 vacancy (full member)

• Economic Development Commission: 1 vacancy (from business community)

• Housing Board of Trustees: 5 vacancies (2 full, 3 alternates)

• Park and Recreation Committee: 2 vacancies (1 alternate, 1 high school rep.)

• Planning Board: 1 vacancy (second alternate)

• Resilience and Energy Committee 2 vacancies (1 full, 1 alternate)

If you are interested in applying for one (or more) of the openings, download an application at www.barrington.ri.gov or pick up a paper application at the library or at town clerk's office inside the town hall. 

The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday, Feb. 26. Applications must be dropped off at the town clerk's office at the town hall.
