Barrington's Troop 2 can boast seven new Eagle Scouts this year.

The Scouts range in age from 14 to 18 and completed some impressive projects to earn their Eagle Scout rank.

Following are portions of the bios for each new Eagle Scout that were included in a recent booklet that was printed for the Eagle Scout Court of Honor:

Maxwell Agustin

• Eagle Scout project — Removed and replaced sections of the St. James Lutheran front walkway; landscaped the church property; power washed, trimmed brush, prepared the rail fencing for painting, and removed debris.

• Favorite Merit Badge — Canoeing

• Most Useful Skill Learned — Leadership

• Favorite Campout Meal — Caveman Steaks

• Toughest Challenge — Being Asst. Senior Patrol Leader at Yawgoog

• Best Scouting Moment — My three years at Yawgoog with Troop 2

• "…Scouting has encouraged Max to help others in any way possible, no matter how small, from holding the door for his classmates after class to feeding the poor and homeless with his church. His largest challenge was helping lead at Yawgoog under Michael Chung in 2014, which taught him that true leadership is more than just yelling orders, it is setting an example for your fellow scouts through acts of kindness and respect."

Andrew Bogdanovic

• Eagle Scout project — Designed, acquired materials and led the fabrication and placement of five monofilament fishing line recycling bins around the town's fishing areas.

• Favorite Merit Badge — Citizen in the nation

• Most Useful Skill Learned — Cooking

• Favorite Campout Meal — Spaghetti in winter cabins

• Toughest Challenge — Hiking uphill, Westpoint Academy

• Best Scouting Moment — Winning fishing derby, Yawgoog

• "…In summer of 2012 at Camp Yawgoog, Andrew won the weekly fishing derby for the biggest catch, a 4-‐ pound large-‐mouth bass defeating several hundred campers for the prize. Andrew’s favorite campouts were at Addieville, another place he enjoyed great fishing success."

Giovanni Cicione

• Eagle Scout project — Built and installed boat and oar racks for East Bay Rowing; improved Walker Farm by allowing for elimination of storage trailers.

• Favorite Merit Badge — Art

• Most Useful Skill Learned — Building campfires

• Favorite Campout Meal — Dutch oven peach cobbler

• Toughest Challenge — Leading younger scouts

• Best Scouting Moment — National Jamboree

• "… Giovanni spent many summers at Camp Yawgoog, but the 2013 National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve was a scouting adventure that was particularly memorable and had a lasting impact. The friendships formed in the new and exciting West Virginia environment will stick with him forever."

Robert Dubel

• Eagle Scout project — Designed and posted trail signs at ASRI's Powder Mill Ledges Wildlife Refuge in Smithfield, RI; the "You are here" visual guidance allows hikers to navigate themselves throughout the trails.

• Favorite Merit Badge — Wilderness Survival

• Most Useful Skill Learned — Leadership

• Favorite Campout Meal — Camp Chili

• Toughest Challenge — Being Senior Patrol Leader

• Best Scouting Moment — Summiting Mt. Washington

• "… Bobby’s favorite scouting experience was hiking up Mt. Washington during the spring of 2016. He appreciated the physical and mental challenge as well as scenic views. Bobby looks forward to hiking at Philmont Scout Ranch this summer."

Owen Roberts

• Eagle Scout project — Worked with Barrington Land Trust and handled trail relocation and reconnection near brick yard pond and YMCA to the benefit of public and residents.

• Favorite Merit Badge — Kayaking

• Most Useful Skill Learned — Building a Fire

• Favorite Campout Meal — American Chop Suey in a Dutch Oven

• Toughest Challenge — Climbing Mt. Washington in snow, ice

• Best Scouting Moment — White Water Rafting

• "… As a Boy Scout, Owen steadily advanced up the ranks. He had a voracious appetite for learning new skills in scouting, earning 31 merit badges. Many of them were earned during his 5 summers at Camp Yawgoog. His natural inclination to lead strong and by example was evident as he fulfilled the duties of his many scouting positions with courage, honesty, and integrity. These characteristics were recognized with his nomination to become an Order of the Arrow member."

William Robichaux

• Eagle Scout project — Built the Barrington Middle School compost bin to aid in the responsible (and earth-friendly) disposal of organic waste from the middle school as was proposed by The Green Team of the Barrington school district.

• Favorite Merit Badge — Wilderness Survival

• Most Useful Skill Learned — Plumbing

• Favorite Campout Meal — Jalepeno Poppers

• Toughest Challenge — 13-mile backpacking trip, age 11

• Best Scouting Moment — Camp Kia Kima

• "… William’s Eagle Project is a statement made to building a better planet for the future scouts of America by reducing waste in landfills through composting. William hopes to become a productive member of society as well as one proud to serve his country."

Stuart Wemple

• Eagle Scout project — Built a pergola for the Barrington Community Garden on Route 114 South.

• Favorite Merit Badge — Motor Boating

• Most Useful Skill Learned — Leadership

• Favorite Campout Meal — Mr. Robichaux's prime rib, peach cobbler and poppers
