PORTSMOUTH — Several local residents were recently arrested on domestic violence charges in unrelated incidents.

On Saturday, June 17, police responded at 58 Islington Ave. around 10:50 a.m. after receiving a report of a domestic dispute at the address. After speaking with the victim — a 22-year-old woman from Portsmouth, according to police — officers charged Jerrell Jacuese Perry, 26, of the same address, with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Perry was held at the police station until a probationary review, police said.

On Sunday, June 18, at about 11:30 a.m., officers responded to 25 Maize Corn Road to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers determined that Arianna D. Spano, 25, of the same address, had “unwanted contact” in the home with a 25-year-old woman who lives in Tiverton, according to police. Spano was charged with domestic assault, first offense.

On Saturday, June 24, Walker Anderson, 18, of 232 Hedly St., was charged with domestic assault, first offense, after officers responded to his home around 10:30 a.m. to investigate a report that he had assaulted a 52-year-old local man, according to police.

Here are some more recent highlights from the Portsmouth Police report:

Wednesday, June 14

Stephen V. Ajemian, 56, of 178 Canonchet Drive, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by 2nd District Court, police said. Officers with knowledge of the warrant observed Mr. Ajemian outside his home shortly before 4 p.m., police said.

Friday, June 16

Andrew S. Kenyon, 29, of 83 Lawrence St., Swansea, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 24 North at Boyds Lane at about 10:35 p.m., police said.

Tuesday, June 20

Kristine A. Caton, 59, of 21 Charlotte Drive, Bristol, was charged with DUI, first offense, at about 2:30 a.m. Officers were informed by a passing motorist that a female was in the middle of a roadway on West Main Road, in the vicinity of Raytheon, and appeared to be unconscious. The motor vehicle was in the opposite lane of travel and had collided with another vehicle, according to police. Eaton was charged at Newport Hospital, police said.

Giorgi Dolidze, 33, of 22548 East Depot St., Newsome, Virg., was charged with leaving the scene of an accident to an attended vehicle, which resulted in reported injuries, police said. The accident took place on West Main Road, and Dolidze was later seen running away from his disabled vehicle, which was located several miles from the crash site, according to police.

Wednesday, June 21

Jose Angel Arroyo, 59, of 13 Fourth St., was charged with violating a no-contact order, police said. Officers responded to his home around 10 a.m. after receiving a “keep the peace” request from Arroyo. According to a 59-year-old Portsmouth woman with whom Arroyo had an active no-contact order, the previous day his brother came to the home and passed a message from Arroyo to the woman regarding property and a request to drop the no-contact order, police said. Officers on scene directed Arroyo to stay away from the victim and to not make any contact with her, but he violated that direction multiple times before being taken into custody, according to police.

Thursday, June 22

Thomas Joseph Perry, Jr., 51, of 60 Chippaquasett Road, Prudence Island, was charged with violating a no-contact order at about noon. The arrest was made in Providence by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Police, based on an affidavit warrant issued by Portsmouth Police stemming from a previously reported incident, police said. The victim was a 47-year-old woman from Portsmouth, police said.

Sunday, June 25

Bryan David Sullivan, 39, of 49 James Francis Terrace, Middletown, was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over on West Main Road at Mailcoach Road around 6 a.m. for speeding and committing multiple roadway violations. Sullivan was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, police said.

Jason B. Brown, 24, of 73 Viking Drive, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, at his home around 10:10 p.m. According to police, officers responded to the home after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance in progress. After speaking with several people at the home, and due to Brown’s aggressive behavior, officers attempted to detain him in handcuffs, but he actively resisted, police said.
