So who are the real extremist idealogues here?

To the editor:

Deborah Pallasch’s most recent personal attack letter manipulates statistics, quotes out of context, and just plain makes stuff up. This is par for the course, but even with all that she actually proves my point that the anti-FTR folks currently in power in Tiverton are intentionally trying to hurt voters to advance their political machine.

Last year her School Committee quietly approved generous union raises after negotiating them in closed executive session (in private) at the same time we were threatened (in public) with losing all-day kindergarten. This year it’s trash pickup.

Next year, Ms. Pallasch warns us that if she and her political allies don’t get their way and they stay in power then maybe it will be fire or police. So who are the real extremist ideologues here?

Tiverton still has the highest tax rates, by far, in Newport County and higher than every bordering community. Voters approved modest tax increases at the FTR in May of both 2015 and 2016, but Ms. Pallasch still wants you to believe we had a “million dollar cut.”  Somehow it’s just never enough. Can you imagine if these folks stay in power and if they get their way and silence the voters by killing the FTR?
