The Barrington "Eagles" 10U All-Stars have earned a spot in the 2017 10U Eastern Regional Little League Baseball Tournament in Cranston, after the local boys won the state championship late last month.

The road to the state championship began with an 8-3 Barrington victory over Cranston West.

The Eagles were led by the spectacular pitching performances of Cullen Crain and Mason Crain. Miles Fontaine rallied the Barrington offense with a 2-run home run, and the defense was anchored by a solid catching performance by Christopher Promades.

In the second game the Eagles soared over Coventry, 14-1. Alex Anderson had a dominating pitching performance to shut-down the Coventry offense, while Blake Dolan, Jack Lawson, Henry Kelsey, Will DiGiacomo and James Caldarella contributed with timely hits.

In the state championship game, Barrington beat Cranston West 4-2 to capture the title and earn a trip to the regional tournament. Barrington's Owen Pfeffer was outstanding on the mound and Matt Fede had a big hit to lead the Eagles to the state championship victory.

"Our team focus has always been about giving 100 percent effort, having positive attitudes and always supporting each other," said Barrington manager Chris Promades. "Throughout the All Star season every Eagles player has contributed to the overall success of the team. The boys played their hearts out, raised their compete level and delivered rewarding memories that will last a lifetime!"

Barrington will be competing against teams from throughout New England — Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine — and the Mid-Atlantic — New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania — starting Aug. 6 in Cranston.
