Eagles' Shaye Robinson is second in all-around

The Barrington High School gymnastics team won the Division II state championship on Sunday.

Barrington standout Shaye Robinson scored a 36.95 in the all-around and paced the Eagles to a 138.25 performance at the state finals. 

Barrington finished ahead of Portsmouth (135.275) and Chariho (131.975).

Robinson finished second in the state in the all-around. The junior scored a 9.55 on beam, a 9.35 on floor, a 9.2 on bars, and an 8.85 on vault, to finish with a score of 36.95. That total placed her just behind North Kingstown’s Olivia Priest, who finished with a 37.3.

Barrington had three gymnasts finish in the top-25 in the all-around. Barrington freshman Sarah Henderson scored a 34.55 and finished 15th in the all-around, and sophomore Katie Leblanc scored a 33.30 and finished 25th.

Lily DaPonte scored an 8.25 on floor, an 8.20 on beam and a 7.65 on bars, and Ellie Noonan finished with an 8.35 on bars, and 8.25 on the beam and floor. Adrienne Kollie scored an 8.40 on vault and a 7.75 on bars, and Hailey Searles scored an 8.40 on vault and an 8.25 on floor. Audrey Keefe finished with an 8.10 on vault.

Barrington scoring by event:

Vault — 34.10

Bars — 33.65

Beam — 35.05

Floor — 35.45

Total — 138.25
