Stone Soup Coffeehouse announces its 43rd season of presenting fine acoustic music in Rhode Island, beginning with An Evening with Ladies of Folk, hosted by Beth Barron Saturday, Oct. 14, at The Music Mansion in Providence.

“Ladies of Folk encompasses an array of female songwriters. To have the opportunity to ask them to join an event that supports female arts and a festival that stands strongly on a healthy environment is a dream.” At Stone Soup, we share this dream, and are proud to partner with Barron to present an evening of music from local songwriters including Allysen Callery, Jane Hesser, Jen Long, Mary and Margi Pierce, Michelle Saylors and the members of the Beth Barron String Band.

“I always wanted to create a safe and supportive space for artists,” says Barron. “When I was offered a position on the Rhode Island Folk Fest Board, I wanted to curate spaces where songwriters had encouraging spaces to share their music. As a woman, I have faced many challenges in regards to finding a true and honest space to share my music without any inappropriate feedback from patrons.”

WHEN: Sat, Oct 14, at 7 p.m., please arrive 15 minutes early

WHERE: The Music Mansion, 88 Meeting St., Providence

MORE INFO: Tickets are $22 each, and can be purchased here or at the door.
