Strong Tiverton lacrosse season comes to an end in playoffs

Middletown put an end to the Tiverton boys lacrosse team’s fine season with a dominant 12-3 performance Friday evening at Middletown. Tiverton goal scorers were Greg Johanning, Dylan Furtado and Andrew Matthews. “It was a very successful season,” said Coach Shane Parker. “We struggled with numbers early in the season after our split from our cooperative with Rogers High School, but the kids were able to overcome our low numbers by implementing a game plan to slow down the games.  We had a good mixture of young players and veteran leadership that was able to beat every team in our league at least once. They built a solid foundation for next year's team to compete for a top spot in the division. The Tigers finish their season with 10-4 league record, 10-5 overall.
