Sunday brings an invitation to Walkabout Warren

The annual Warren Walkabout is on three Sundays in October. The street-style festival has live music, unique shops and boutiques with sidewalk sales, cafés and eateries with food pop-ups, and open artist studios featuring workshops with live demonstrations. Entertainment on Oct. 16 is Su Casa from noon to 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church, Super Chief Trio from 1:30 to 3:30 at Town Hall, and The Whelks from 3 to 5 at the Baker Street Park. Park and walk, bike or take a free trolley.

WHAT: Warren Walkabout

WHEN: Sundays, Oct. 16 to 30, from noon to 5 p.m.

WHERE: Downtown Warren from Main Street to Water Street

COST: Free and open to all

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
