Have you ever wondered how much it cost to build Barrington Town Hall?

The answer to that question and others — such as, 'How many years did the train run through Barrington?' — will be offered during an historic bike tour of Barrington. 

The tour will be held on Saturday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to noon, and is part of the Barrington 300 celebration. 

Barrington resident Sydney Montstream Quas will lead the tour; Ms. Montstream Quas was also the director for the award-winning East Bay Bike Path historic sign project. She will share interesting bits of information about Barrington during the tour.

Dubbed "A Museum Without Walls," these mounted panels along the former Providence, Warren & Bristol Railroad identify hidden treasures in our own backyard. Historical facts were prepared by a team of the Barrington Preservation Society. 

The historical panels are found along the East Bay Bike Path in Barrington at:

1) Haines Park - One of Rhode Island’s First State Parks

2) Bay Spring - Barrington's Industrial Center

3) Drownvile - Harvest from Land and Sea

4) Little Echo - An Ice Pond

5) Brickyard Pond - A Flooded Clay Pit

6) Barrington Center - The Commercial Hub

7) New Meadow Neck - Rivers, Bridges and an Early Town Center

8) Civic Center Historic District - The Core of Town Government

9) Police Cove  - The Site of the former Rhode Island Suburban Railroad Power Station/ Police Station

Anyone interested in participating should meet at the Police Cove Park on July 22 at 9:45 a.m.
