The local nonprofit organization Tap-In is looking for one or two people who can help the agency apply for grants.
Tap-In (Touch A Person In Need) provides free services to people in need in East Providence, Barrington, Warren and Bristol, and helps about 1,000 people each month. The agency relies on a number of sources for its funding, including grants.
"Recently retired professionals, stay-at-home parents, those taking a break from full-time work, and anyone interested in our mission are encouraged to contact us about this opportunity," stated a press release from Tap-In. "Volunteering at Tap-In enables you to keep skills sharp, share your expertise, and give back to the East Bay community. Some of the grant writer’s work can be done from home."
Volunteers at the nonprofit said those interested in the position should have strong organizational skills, communication and writing skills, experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and should be able to work as a team player.
"Past development, writing, and administrative experience is welcome but not required," stated the release. "We will train interested candidates with strong skills and genuine interest in Tap-In's mission."
