EAST PROVIDENCE — A Providence woman was the third suspect arrested in a scheme to bilk an elderly city man of extra cash for driveway repairs.

East Providence Police the arrest of Sally Davis, 30 and of 930 Chalkstone Ave. on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2. She along with Anthony Williams, 32, and David Johnson, 33, of the same address were arraigned Sunday then transported to the Adult Correctional Institution. Each is facing charges of exploitation of elders and conspiracy.

Messrs. Williams and Johnson, whose arrests were announced by EPPD on August 1, did minor work for a Byron Street resident. They then informed him he needed to make payment to them for the work they did. They would give the resident an itemized bill at the time payment was required. In the course of three days, Messrs. Williams and Johnson received multiple checks from the resident totaling more than $30,000 in alleged repairs.

The alleged victim's daughter contacted police during the week, notifying officers are what had occurred.
