Tigers best Durfee 8-2 in home opener

Tiverton earned its first win of the young baseball season by an 8-2 score over Durfee High School in a non-league game at Tiverton Friday afternoon.

Mason Farias had two hits and drove in four of the Tigers’ runs. Stephen Gacioch had a hit and scored twice for Tiverton.

Pitching for the home team were Kai Henson and Evan Monast.

A day later, Tiverton lost to Tolman by an 11-5 score to bring its overall record to 1-2 (0-2 in its division).

Overall the Tigers are 1-3 and host St. Raphael Academy at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 4/22, and West Warwick at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 4/27.
