'Tinsel and Tales' in Bristol

Ring in the holiday season this weekend with Bristol Theatre Company's heartwarming production of "Tinsel and Tales", a music-filled story of family and belonging.
A cast of local performers brings the Bennett family to life on Christmas Eve, gathering for their traditional holiday celebration — song and dance, family and friends, food and fights, love and laughter. This year is a little different though; some of their loved ones won't make it home, but they find it in their hearts to welcome a lonesome stranger.

WHERE: Reynolds Arts and Wellness Center, 235 High Street, Bristol
WHEN: Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8 and 9, 7:30 p.m.
COST: Advance tickets are $20; $15 for students and seniors and free for children under 5; $25 at the door.
MORE INFO: Tickets are available online at tinselandtales.brownpapertickets.com; more info about BTC at bristoltheatrecompany.org

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
