A tip recently helped the Barrington Police Department charge a Tiverton man for the break-in of the Beltone Hearing Aid office at 310 Maple Ave.
On Sept. 29, police responded to a break-in at the office space and reviewed video surveillance footage which showed a man entering the office, rummaging through desk drawers and making off with an undetermined amount of cash. Police shared the images with media and later received a tip that the man in the video was Tiverton resident Jeffrey Bostock.
Police eventually tracked down Mr. Bostock's brother, who reportedly told investigators that Jeffrey was serving jail time in Barnstable County House of Correction. Barrington police reportedly observed the suspect's vehicle parked at his brother's residence.
Police spoke with law enforcement in Orleans, Mass., and traveled to the Barnstable County House of Correction to interview Mr. Bostock.
"Jeffrey Bostock initially did not talk to police at first but subsequently gave a full confession for breaking and entering into the Beltone Hearing Aid Center," stated a press release from Barrington police.
"Jeffery Bostock has an extensive criminal history in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Jeffery Bostock has been criminally charged 90 times as an adult in Massachusetts. Jeffery Bostock received a 10-year sentence in Rhode Island in 2011. He will be presented as a violator of this sentence in addition to the new Barrington Police charge of breaking and entering (B&E) into the Beltone Hearing Aid Center."
