Tiverton police: Fishing boat rescues kiter

At 5:14 p.m., a 17-year old Tiverton boy was charged with possession of marijuana, first offense.

A Randolph Avenue caller at 8:36 p.m. reported "loud people screaming." The investigating officer reported "those parties are grilling in their driveway and garage, asked them to keep it down, they said they would." At 9:03 p.m., police noted a "second call about loud noise and music at residence." Complainant did not want to speak with an officer. At 9:29 p.m., the officer reported "those parties closed their garage door, shouldn't have any further issues."

Wednesday, May 17

At 11:12 p.m., an officer on patrol on State Avenue reported "a domestic in middle of road."

At 12:57 p.m., a woman came to the police station to complain that her "husband burned her belongings."

At 6:25 p.m., Timothy Ryan, 41, of 121 Durfee Road, Tiverton, was charged with domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone, domestic simple assault, and domestic disorderly conduct.

A car hit a deer on Route 24 near the Fish Road exit, with"damage to the vehicle, license plate ripped off, broken grill." Driver left the scene, said "due to too much traffic," and was at parents' house.

At 10:30 p.m., Alexander R. Cabeceiras, 24, was charged under a 2nd District Court bench warrant for failure to appear.

Thursday, May 18

At 2:39 p.m., a Fogland area caller reported "a kiter struggling for half an hour in the water, appears to be a power boat heading that way." Marine One from East Bay Control responded. Little Compton marine responded. A civilian called to say a small fishing boat had taken the kiter to shore.

At 6:01 p.m., a Paul James Drive caller reported "a juvenile with black bushy hair on a small mini dirt bike, green, flying from power lines back and forth up and down Paul James Drive and going over complainant's lawn."

Friday, May 19

At 9:22 a.m., Daniel Bernier, 36, of 185 Stafford Road, Apt. # Barn, Tiverton, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct.

At 2:41 p.m., David S. Carfo, 33, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a scheduled drug.

At 7:24 p.m., Christopher Boyd, 21, of Fall River, was charged with possession of marijuana, first offense.

Saturday, May 20,

At 2:41 p.m., Thomas Keyes, 22, of Berkley, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 10:15 a.m., Daniel Bernier, 36, of 185 Stafford Road, Apt. # Barn, Tiverton, was charged with violation of a no contact order.

Saturday, May 20

Eston J. Moniz, 32, of Swansea, was charged at 7:33 with domestic simple assault, domestic disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer, and under a bench warrant from the 2nd District Court.
