Tiverton Police Report: Playground spray painted; domestic vandalism - third offense

Saturday, Nov. 9

William T. Shepard, 28, of 841 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence at 1:48 a.m. on Route 24 in Tiverton.

Police received complaints of late night trash dumping — mattresses and box springs — at the Bulgarmarsh Flea Market.

Two Cornell Drive residents were taken to the hospital for treatment of possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

Portsmouth firefighters were called for mutual aid to a “working fire” on John Duggan Road. Portsmouth responders found person on scene “is cooking a turkey.”

Sunday, Nov. 10

Linda Venier, 64, of 39 Cross Road, Tiverton, was arrested on charges of domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct at 12:30 a.m. at that address.

Monday, Nov. 11

Christopher J. Gaitten, 36, of 293 Robert Gray Avenue, Tiverton, was arrested on a charge of domestic disorderly conduct at that address at 8:54 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 12

At 7:16 p.m., Jonathan E. Waddell, 35, of 9 Cross Road, Tiverton, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of an accident — damage to highway fixtures — on Stafford Road.

Wednesday, Nov. 13

Matthew D. Waddell, 32, of 9 Cross Road, Tiverton, was arrested on charges of domestic vandalism (third offense), domestic disorderly conduct (third offense), at 12:17 p.m. at that address.

Thursday, Nov. 14

Jeffrey Dantas, 52, of Pawtucket, was arrested at 11 a.m. on a charge of larceny under $500 from Tiverton Middle School.

At 1:08 a.m., Nicolaus R. Hewitt,  21, of 11 Walker Farm Lane, Barrington, was arrested by Tiverton Police on a charge of narcotics possession.

Hailey Lynn Chapman, 18, of 45 Campion Ave., Tiverton, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant at 10:57 a.m.

Friday, Nov. 15

James Mendes, 28, of Randolph, Mass, was arrested on charges of trespassing and obstructing a police officer at 1158 p.m. at the Tiverton Casino Hotel.

Saturday, Nov. 16

Steven C. Stanton Jr., 20, of Providence, was arrested on a charge of vandalism at 5:12 p.m. at the Bulgarmarsh Road town recreation area. The arrest came after reports of three youths spray painting their Instagram handles there.

Two horses were reported to be running through yards on Bridle Way. The horses were caught.

Three goats were reported walking on Main Road at 4:41 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 17

Michael N. Morway, 42, of South Chatham, Mass., was arrested on a charge of vandalism at the Tiverton Casino Hotel at 9:30 a.m.

Andrew J. Decotis, 24, of 300 Bulgarmarsh Road, Tiverton was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at Atlantic Sports Bar and Restaurant, Shove Street, at 9:38 p.m.
