NEWPORT — The East Providence High School girls' basketball team ended a five game Division I losing streak with a come-from-behind 47-44 victory over Rogers on the road Tuesday night, Jan. 23.
The Townies, who improved to 2-9 in the league, trailed the host Vikings 20-16 at the break and were down 12 into the third quarter before making their rally.
Harmonie McDowell was the leading scorer for the locals with 15 points, 7-for-10 from the free throw line. Audrey Bernard added eight points and five rebounds. Trinity Provencher chipped in points, going 6-for-8 from the charity stripe.
The Townies take the rest of the week off before returning to action Monday, Jan. 29, at home vs. Bay View at 6 p.m.
