Vineyard hosts its 27th annual WINEter Festival all weekend

Sip, savor and toast to the new year at the 27th annual WINEter Festival at Newport Vineyards. They are hosting two days full of grape stomping, wine and beer tasting, and eating tasty festive treats. Enjoy live music while sipping on local wines or fresh Taproot beer, and noshing on food created by scratch from our culinary team. Feeling competitive? Enter in the raffle for a chance to compete in the Grape Stomp Competition!

Saturday, Feb. 18

  • Session 1- 11:30am-2pm (sold out)
  • Session 2-2:30pm-5pm (sold out)
  • Live music from Alexus Lee Band

Sunday, Feb. 19

DETAILS: Ticket includes admission to specific session, souvenir vineyard logo glass & tasting – your choice of 5 tastes from our wine AND beer bars! Food items & additional beverages available for purchase.

Grape stomping will take place at 12:30 & 3:30 each day. We are selling raffle tickets to support Ukraine, for the chance to participate in grape stomping, plus other prizes! Raffle tickets will be available to purchase onsite or in advance here.”

Dessert Ice Bar will be hosted OUTSIDE, with tasting pours available for purchase (tasting tickets not accepted), featuring a festive ice sculpture luge to serve pours through. Dress accordingly!

Kids 15 and under are free (no ticket required). For 16+ and non-tasting tickets, please email info@newportvineyards.com.

Event is held mostly indoors, rain or shine.

Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
