Warren opioid update: One fatal overdose so far this year

Warren police have administered anti-opioid medication to suspected drug overdose victims twice so far this year, according to information released Wednesday by Warren police Lt. Roy Borges. If that pace continues through the year, police will slightly eclipse the six times police administered the drug to victims last year.

All six victims treated with Narcan last year survived, though a seventh overdose victim who was not treated by first responders died. There has been one fatal overdose so far this year, Lt. Borges reported. As was the case last year, that victim was not treated with Narcan,
