Warren PD arrest Riverside man after hitting multiple vehicles without stopping

Monday, Feb. 26
Damage to a fence was reported on Child Street at 7:10 a.m.

A dispute between a person on Main Street and a pest control employee was investigated by police at 9:34 a.m.

An officer assisted a woman on Harris Avenue at 10:28 a.m. with getting her sick dog into their vehicle.

A woman reported their cell phone had been stolen from a shopping cart on Child Street at 11:20 a.m.

Police responded to Market Street at 11:59 a.m. for the report of an unruly juvenile who “destroyed a classroom.”

Tuesday, Fev. 27
Tyler E. Hopkins, 40, of 510 Child St., Apt. #401A, Warren, was arrested at 8:00 a.m. following an incident on Child Street where someone allegedly kicked open a door while intoxicated. He was charged with four counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, vandalism, refusal to relinquish/obstruction of a telephone, and disorderly conduct, all first offenses), as well as one subsequent charge of vandalism and one charge of tampering with vehicles. He was transported to court later that morning.

Kayla L. Silvia, 31, of 24 Federal St., Apt. #2, Warren, was arrested at 1:16 p.m. following a disturbance where someone allegedly took another person’s dogs without permission. She was charged with domestic violence (disorderly conduct, first offense), resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer in execution of their duty. She was arraigned and released later that afternoon.

Police received a report that there were chickens by the road near Main and Bridge Streets at 3:28 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 28
DPW was notified at 7:21 a.m. following a report that Christmas lights were hanging in the roadway near Main and State Streets.

A fire in a building on Child Street was reported at 7:36 p.m. Fire volunteers were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes and the business owner was contacted.

Thursday, Feb. 29
Kayla M. Monty, 27, of 5556 Red Cliff Dr., Apt. #11, Taylorsville, Utah, was arrested on a warrant at 12:41 p.m. She was charged with felony domestic violence (attempted breaking and entering), and felony conspiracy.

Thomas Nencka, 18, of 4 Cross St., Bristol, was arrested following police being told of a motor vehicle in the middle of the road on Arlington Avenue at 9:54 p.m. with their hazard lights on. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and released later that evening.

Friday, March 1
Peter C. Ciacci II, 41, of 1 Evangeline Ct., Bristol, was arrested at 2:24 a.m. on Metacom Avenue following a motor vehicle stop. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and released later that morning.

Police looked in the area of Schoolhouse and Birch Swamp Roads at 10:42 a.m. for the report of a man climbing up a telephone pole. No one was found in the area.

Police found and disposed of syringes found near the basketball court at Jamiel’s Park on Market Street at 10:47 a.m.

Saturday, March 2
A fire on Market Street at 2:26 p.m. brought out fire apparatus from Warren, Bristol, Swansea, and Rehoboth. An industrial building was reportedly fully on fire. The scene was ultimately cleared at 6:38 p.m.

Edmund R. Taylor, 32, of 22 Floyd Ave., Riverside, was arrested following an accident near Market Street and Schoolhouse Road at 4:31 p.m. after a report came in that a vehicle hit multiple other vehicles without stopping. Swansea police and Massachusetts State Police were called as well to look for the suspect, as he was wanted for an incident of a suspected hit and run after going the wrong way up a ramp on I-195. Taylor was ultimately charged with three counts of failure to stop for an accident resulting in damage to a vehicle, obstructing an officer in execution of their duty, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He was released early the following morning.

Sunday, March 3
A Beechwood Court resident reported he had been the victim of a scam at 2:22 p.m.

Police spoke to a man at 3:40 p.m. who had allegedly caused an incident on Child Street regarding his dog, who he was said to walk off the leash.
Police spoke with a Main Street resident who believed their phone calls were being monitored at 8:51 p.m.
