Warren PD: Police make 10 arrests, including three teenagers

Monday, Oct. 23
DPW was advised of a string of lights that were hanging low and being struck by vehicles passing by near Water and Baker Streets at 10:35 a.m.

Police were called to Kickemuit Middle School at 1:23 p.m. for the report of a child in possession of a knife. A parent later consented to a search by police at their address that afternoon.

Police asked a man reportedly yelling at traffic near Market Street and Kickemuit Road to quiet down at 3:50 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 24
The theft of bagged compost was reported on Brown Street at 2:04 p.m.

Authorities ensured a fire occurring behind a building on Child Street was extinguished at 3:30 p.m. after finding people burning pallets without a permit to do so.

Police received a report at 3:51 p.m. that people might be living in the woods near a property on Franklin Street.

Lucas James Defarias, 26, of 312 Pearse Rd., Swansea, Mass., was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Market Street at 5:43 p.m. He was charged with obstructing an officer in execution of duty, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned and released later that evening.

Tyler Gow, 18, of 16 Orchard Ave., Warren, was arrested at 6:45 p.m. on a warrant out of Bristol following an incident involving a group of juveniles who were possibly kicking a garage door. Warren PD transported Gow into Bristol PD’s custody later that evening.

Police dispersed a man who was “hanging out in the mens bathroom” at an address on Joyce Street at 11:35 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 25
Jeanine Garcia, 40, of 39 Arlington Ave., Apt. #3, Warren, was arrested at 2:47 a.m. on Liberty Street following a motor vehicle stop. Garcia was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (first offense), and transported to district court later that morning.

Joseph Rodrigues, 38, of 113 Water St., Apt. #1, Warren, was arrested following an incident on Child Street at 6:10 p.m. He was charged with one count of obstructing an officer in execution of their duty.

Theft of money from a safe was reported on Vernon Street at 7:41 p.m.

A Market Street resident reported at 9:50 p.m. they fell victim to a scam involving withdrawing money from their bank account.

Thursday, Oct. 26
Three loose horses were reported on Maple Road at 11:14 a.m. The owner retrieved the animals without incident.

Friday, Oct. 27
Everett Johnson, 46, of 40 Dr. Marcus Wheatland, Newport, was arrested at 1:56 a.m. on Joyce Street following the report of somebody yelling in the area. He was charged with two open Superior Court warrants and a bench warrant from 6th District Court. He was transported to the ACI later that morning.

A caller on Child Street reported at 12:13 p.m. that a man had exposed himself to her.

A woman reported a past hit and run incident on Metacom Avenue at 6:38 p.m.

Police dispersed two women and one man who were reportedly panhandling in the Main Street area at 8:50 p.m.

Dylan Rego, 20, of 38 Elmwood Dr., Bristol, was arrested at 11:02 p.m. following the report of a car hitting a pole on Market Street. He was charged with DUI of a drug, toluene, or controlled substance (first offense). He was transported to the hospital shortly after the accident and given a court summons later the following morning.

Saturday, Oct. 28
A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested near Main and Joyce Streets at 1:38 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop. They were charged with driving without a valid license and driving without the consent of the owner or lessee of the vehicle.

A Brittney Lane resident reported at 3:03 p.m. that a family member had sold their video games while they were on vacation, but didn’t wish to pursue the matter further.

Nicole Violett, 28, of 215 Cumberland Rd., Warwick, was arrested at 8:01 p.m. following a disturbance on Market Street involving a report of a verbal altercation. She was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, and was transported to the ACI early the following morning.

Sunday, Oct. 29
Eduardo De Almeida, 29, of 34 Winslow St., Riverside, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Brown Street at 1:31 a.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and released later that morning.

A Franklin Street resident reported at 8:06 a.m. that their company vehicle had been stolen from their driveway overnight. The vehicle was found in Barrington later that morning.

Isaiah Harrod, 18, of 195 Main St., Apt. #FLR 2, Warren, was arrested on Main Street on a warrant at 2:23 p.m. He was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.
