Warren police arrest unruly bar patron

Monday, Nov. 12

A caller reported finding the contents of a purse that had apparently spilled open in front of a Main Street address.

A man called police from Water Street to report that his girlfriend had been assaulted by her daughter.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

A Main Street woman called with suspicions that her ex-boyfriend broke into her home a few days earlier.

Toni L. Keller, 32, of Providence, was picked up on a warrant for domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

An employee at a Metacom Avenue establishment called police to report a disgruntled customer. The man requested a no trespass order.

A man called from Child Street to report being assaulted. An officer who checked it out noted there was no assault; just an argument.

A caller reported a man begging for money on Main Street just after 7 p.m.

Police dispersed a man from Miller Street. He was panhandling.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

Police got a call about a child with a weapon at the Kickemuit Middle School.

Fire crews investigated a call from a Child Street address. It stemmed from a cooking mishap.

A Brady Street man reported being harassed by his ex-girlfriend.

A Fatima Drive woman told police that someone cracked the windshield on her car.

A Libby Lane woman called police to report that her husband was drunk and was yelling.

Thursday, Nov. 15

A caller from Baker Street reported loud music at 1:45 a.m.

A caller complained about a woman going through mailboxes on Wood Street.

Police assisted a person locked out of a car with the engine running.

A Libby Lane man reported being assaulted the previous Friday.

A Child Street woman reported receiving harassing text messages.

Friday, Nov. 16

A Main Street homeowner trapped a raccoon inside his house, and called the animal control officer.

Luis Motta, 34, of Providence, was charged with breaking and entering.

A person working on New Industrial Road reported receiving a threatening message.

Saturday, Nov. 17

Brendan McIrney, 19 of Wilmington, Ma., was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, refusal to submit to a chemical test and transportation of alcohol by a minor, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 2:18 a.m.

A man walked into police headquarters and reported being harassed by another man on Main Street. Police looked for but could not locate the subject.

A Davis Street man said it appeared that someone had entered his apartment while he slept, as some items had been moved.

Sunday, Nov. 18

A Seymour Street woman told police that her car had been vandalized.

A caller reported a panhandler on Main Street just after 11:30 p.m.

Eduard A. Leite, 66, of 395 Market St., was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Metacom Avenue at 4:20 p.m.

A Main Street woman spotted a chicken running loose on Main Street. She caught the fowl herself, and told police she’d keep it until the morning before calling the animal control officer.

A man from Davis Street called to police to report being scammed. Money was missing from his account, he said.

Monday, Nov. 19

Robert Boyer, 47, of 33 Miller St., was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct, after police got a call from a Main Street bar employee who asked officers to remove an unwanted patron.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
