Warren police charge man with DUI wreck that hurt woman

Monday, Jan. 22

A caller from Metacom Avenue reported that someone struck his car and left the scene.

A Main Street man complained that his upstairs neighbor started arguing with him over money.

Elizabeth V. Bermudez, 40, of 39 Sowamsett Ave., was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

Tuesday, Jan. 23

Harassment via social media was reported on Market Street.

Christina M. Cruz, 28, of Pawtucket, was arrested on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant after she was reported driving erratically on Market Street, and pulled over.

Wednesday, Jan. 24

Someone drove into a ditch on Serpentine Road.

A Canario Drive woman complained that her daughter had been assaulted.

David D. Patenaude, 61, of 23 Fairview Ave., was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense, after police pulled him over on Serpentine Road.

Thursday, Jan. 25

A woman from Market Street asked police to remove her boyfriend from her apartment.

A Warren woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by an alleged drunk driver just before 6:30 p.m. She was traveling west on Schoolhouse Road when police said she was “T-boned” by a car driven by Stephen Murgo, 41, of Little Compton. Mr. Murgo was traveling south on Birchswamp when the cars collided. The woman was responsive when police spoke to her but apparently suffered serious internal injuries. She was admitted into Rhode Island Hospital.

Friday, Jan. 26

An Overhill Road woman told police that her young son tried to attack her with a cooking utensil.

Saturday, Jan. 27

Fire crews responded to a Cole Street home for a possible fire. It turned out to be a smoking washing machine belt.

A Mason Street man complained that his mother’s home may have been broken into.

A juvenile from Market Street reported the theft of an Xbox 1 video game.

Bernard Hardy, 47, of Providence, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after police checked out a suspicious person on Main Street just before 2:30 p.m.

The animal control officer went to pick up a dead squirrel reported on Child Street, but the animal was gone on arrival.

Two men arguing on Main Street were advised to knock it off.

Police were asked to disperse an unwanted man from a Main Street address.

Sunday, Jan. 28

Alexandra E. Lombardo, 26, of 938 Main St., was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court bench warrant after police checked out a suspicious person on Main Street just after 2 a.m.

A caller from Water Street reported a loud party at 2:19 a.m.

A Market Street woman complained that her young daughter hit her.

A Touisset Road woman complained that her home had been broken into, and items were missing.
