Warren police logs: Break-in at Jannitto Field

Monday, March 28
Police got word of bullying at Mt. Hope High School that occurred via Instagram and Twitter. Warren officers referred the matter to Bristol police and the school’s resource officer.
A woman stepped in to CVS on Metacom Avenue and when she returned a few minutes later, noticed that her wallet, which she’d left in the car, was gone.
A woman called from Main Street called with complaints about her “rude” neighbors.
Possible narcotics activity was reported on Market Street. Police repotted no problem.
Tuesday, March 29
Someone broke into the shed at Jannitto Park on Water Street.
The animal control officer went to Child Street to investigate a dog bite.
A Fern Drive resident spotted an injured skunk in the back yard, and called police.
Police got a call about a student on student assault at the Hugh Cole School.
A Matthew Court resident reported online fraud.
Wednesday, March 30
Someone reported a deceased rabbit between two buildings at the Kickemuit Village.
A Water Street caller reported receiving threatening texts.
Two dogs on Mayo Drive killed a skunk. No word on whether the owners left the dogs outside for the night.
A boy was reported AWOL from a Main Street home.
Thursday, March 31
Someone heard loud banging noises around Highview Avenue and Bristow Street.
Police advised a resident walking a dog along Davis Street of Warren’s leash law and dog waste removal ordinance.
Jose Tavares, 20, of 271 Market St., Apt. 1, was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting.
A librarian at the George Haile Library asked that police disperse a man from the property. HE was advised not to return.
A log somehow ended up in the middle of Kinnicutt Avenue. Police removed it.
A Croade Street woman reported receiving harassing telephone calls.
Someone reported speeding on Laurel Lane.
Shelby L. Ennis, 28, of Swansea, was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer, after police received numerous calls about a woman pounding on a Union Street door and yelling.
Police advised a Wheaton Street resident to quiet down after getting a noise complaint at 11:16 p.m.
Friday, April 1
Toby Merolla
, 53, of Barrington, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 12:09 a.m.
Two cows got loose on Adams Lane.
Gilbert F. Rene, 27, of 136 Main St., Apt. 1E, was charged with violating a court order after police got a call about loud yelling on Main Street.
Derreck M. Martin, 27, of Pawtucket, was arrested on a warrant following a car stop on Market Street just before 5:30 p.m.
A Child Street man reported the theft of a bicycle from his property.
Antonio Chavez, 52, of 598 Metacom Ave., was charged with domestic simple assault/battery, domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone and domestic disorderly conduct, after police got a call about a disturbance on Metacom Avenue at 11:17 p.m.
Saturday, April 2
Police reunited a lost wallet with its owner. It was found at Market and Handy streets.
A Fairview Avenue resident complained about a neighbor’s dog.
Sunday, April 3
Police got a call about a boyfriend/girlfriend argument on Munro Avenue.
A Meacom Avenue man called police to report that his girlfriend was taking all his things.
Monday, April 4
A Sisson Street complained that neighbors were yelling.
A Cutler Street woman complained that a neighbor’s fence collapsed onto her bushes and flower beds.
