Warren police logs: Coyote sightings on the rise

Monday, March 13
Brendan Barry, 49, of 26 Davis St., Apt. 1, was charged with payment evasion of a fare from a train, bus, auto or boat.

Deborah Ann Gantt, 57, of 5 Maple Road, was charged with the fraudulent use of credit cards.
The police were called to assist the state Department of Children, Youth and Families in an eviction on Arlington Avenue.
Tuesday, March 14
Police assisted a motorist who locked himself out of a running car in a Metacom Avenue parking lot.
A Water Street resident complained about a neighbor shoveling snow into the road.
A taxi driver called from Baker Street to report that a fare refused to pay his bill.
Wednesday, March 15
A Child Street resident reported neighbors arguing just before 8 a.m.
Police got a call from Main Street about what might have been a baby coyote. Police couldn’t locate the animal.
Police dispersed a man who was relieving himself behind a Main Street dumpster at 11:21 a.m.
Police checked out possible narcotics activity on Metacom Avenue but made no arrests.
A Main Street resident reported harassing and threatening Social Media messages.
Thursday, March 16
A Market Street man called police after he said his neighbor spit in his face.
An injured coyote spotted on Croade Street retreated into the woods, Warren’s animal control officer reported. Two and a half hours later, a similar call came in from Oak Street, then Metacom Avenue and soon after, Canario Drive.
A Croade Street woman called police to report that her brother might be involved with drugs.
A caller from Libby Lane reported fighting with her ex-boyfriend.
Police got a call about an unwanted drunken man on Union Street.
A caller from Park Street reported that her 17-year-old daughter was out of control.
Friday, March 17
A caller reported a man wearing dark clothing standing near Asselin Street at 2:16 a.m. Police came out and spoke to the man, advising him to “keep moving.”
An aggressive driver complaint came in from Market Street. Police tracked down the driver at his home and advised him of the complaint they’d received.
An injured coyote was spotted on Vernon Street. Two hours and 10 minutes later, at 6:32 p.m., police got a call that a coyote had been struck by a car there.
Police got a call about a drunken man behaving strangely on Warren Avenue, just after 5:30 p.m.
A possible drunk driver was spotted on Birchswamp Road.
A loud music complaint came in from Davis Street.
Police got a complaint that a drunk man on Birchswamp Road was “fighting with everyone.”
Saturday, March 18
A Main Street resident requested an ambulance for an intoxicated man. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
A Market Street resident reported being harassed via Social Media.
Sunday, March 19
Pasquale V. Butler, 37, of 56 Broad St., was charged with domestic disorderly conduct after neighbors complained about an argument on Broad Street.
A Libby Lane resident complained that upstairs neighbors were making loud banging noises.
Monday, March 20
Ellison L. Meagher, 30, of 72 Seymour St., was arrested on a Lincoln warrant and handed over to authorities in that town.
A Federal Street man told police that an acquaintance threatened to stab him. Barrington police caught up with the suspect a short while later but no arrest was noted.
