Warren police logs: Cyber-harassment, neighborhood disputes

A Wood Street woman asked for a police officer after getting into an argument with her daughter and son-in-law.

A Church Street woman told police that someone forced open her basement door.

A cyber-harassment call came in from Birch Swamp Road.

A Warren woman was cited after police got a call that a driver struck a fire hydrant on Arlington Avenue and then fled the scene. Cited was Alicia M. Jacobs, 28, of 76 Arlington Ave.

Someone hit a badger while driving near Main and Miller streets.

Police got a call about a man wearing a New England Patriots “Fernandes” jersey who was carrying a red hammer and running down Main Street. Sure it wasn’t Hernandez?

Someone found a wallet in their backyard shed and called the police.

A neighborhood dispute drew police out to Child Street.

Police got a call that two men were arguing in an Asylum Road driveway. Turns out they were really only trying to jump start a car.

Wednesday, May 27

A Highview Avenue resident called about loose dogs on the street, but police determined the dogs had never left their owner’s property.

Police got a call about a drunk driver and pulled over the car. It was only having mechanical issues.

Thursday, May 28

Someone broke into a Market Street business overnight.

An officer spotted a five-year-old playing near Child Street. He tracked down the child’s parents and advised them about what he’d found.

An injured bird rescued on Market Street was turned over to a wildlife clinic in Portsmouth.

Police dispersed at least one unwanted person from a home on Overhill Road.

A Parker Avenue man called police after spotting a raccoon in his front yard.

Police got a tip that two men were chasing a juvenile around Water Street.

The manager of a Metacom Avenue business found what he said was a bag of pills in a restroom. It turned out to be cotton balls.

An unruly juvenile call came in from Arlington Avenue.

A Manning Street man told police that two women were looking in his window.

Friday, May 29

A State Street man reported being harassed.

A Child Street woman reported to police that the numbers on her mailbox were missing. No word on whether officers had difficulty finding the place as a result.

A mother and son on Cole Street were arguing, and police got the call.

Someone complained about a man cranking music on Union Street just after 3:30 p.m.

Jonathan W. Goss, 36, of 509 Child St., was picked up on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant. Court records indicate the warrant stemmed from an alleged violation of a previous no contact order put in place following charges of domestic strangulation, refusal to relinquish a telephone, disorderly conduct and simple assault.

A man reported yelling on Child Street was just talking loudly into his phone. Police told him to quiet down.

A barking dog came in from Main Street just before 11 p.m.

Saturday, May 30

Police went to Vernon Street at 9:33 a.m. for an intoxicated and possibly overdosed woman.

A man called police to report that a woman at Main and Wood streets was dancing and making lewd gestures. Police said the woman was only sitting on some steps.

Someone parked a van on a Market Street sidewalk, and police got the call.

Marine rescue crews responded with other authorities to a report of an unattended sailboat floating near Conimicut Light.

Sunday, May 31

A possible drunk driver was reported on Main Street.

Philip W. Lotti, 20, of Bristol, was charged with “high speed pursuit, first offense,” after police attempted to stop his car, which had a flat tire.

A man alleged to police that his ex-wife was using his personal information to access his phone messages.

Someone broke the rear lights on a car parked on Davis Street.

Someone stole a motorcycle helmet from a Ridgeway Drive home.

A Colonial Drive woman told police that her son stole jewelry from her home.

Police went out to Davis Street for a tenant issue.
