Warren police logs: Firework complaints as Patriots clinch Super Bowl victory

Monday, Jan. 28

A Hope Street woman complained that kids playing football in the street hit her car several times.

A woman asked for a police escort while picking up her belongings from a home on Rollingwood Court.

Paul A. Marshall, 58, of 338 Child St., Apt. 3, was charged with being a fugitive from justice after he was pulled over on Arlington Avenue at 11:59 p.m. A police NCIC search returned a “hit” out of Plainville, Ma.

Tuesday, Jan. 29

A loose pig was spotted wallowing in the mire on Barton Avenue, near Touisset Road.

A woman called the police after her car sustained damage from a pothole on Turner Street.

Police looked for, but could not locate, several juveniles reported by a caller to be looking into car windows.

Wednesday, Jan. 30

Items were reported stolen from a home on Metacom Avenue.

A Water Street woman called police with concerns that her car may have been stolen. Turns out the car was towed after she parked in a no parking area.

A caller complained about a truck driving in a wooded area near Denver Avenue. Police looked in car and on foot, and reported that the area in question was impassible due to wet conditions.

Thursday, Jan. 31

A caller told police that a juvenile waiting for a school bus at Water and Main streets did not have a proper jacket on for the cold weather. Police took the girl home, and her parents said they would drive her to school.

A caller found a tent, with a possible firearm inside, in a wooded area near Wood Street. The gun was actually a toy replica.

A woman on Croade Street called police about a man who she said was suspicious, and had knocked on her door looking for a lost dog.

Friday, Feb. 1

A car struck a deer on Elmwood Court. The deer fled into the woods following the accident.

A Metacom Avenue woman complained about a neighbor having an argument with her son. Police found no problem; the woman was disciplining her son.

A Coomer Avenue man asked that police remove his ex-girlfriend from his property, after he said she went onto his property and rang his doorbell.

Violet U. Deloney, 29, of Providence, was charged with possession of marijuana, one ounce or less, and driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, first offense, after police pulled her over on Market Street at 9:04 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 2

A juvenile called police to report that a man assaulted his mother on Child Street.

A Lyndon Street woman requested police patrols in the area after she discovered her basement window broken.

A caller from Parker Avenue reported a suspicious person sitting on a stone wall for an extended period of time.

Sunday, Feb. 3

A Thompson Street man complained about a man sleeping on his front porch.

A caller from Lyndon Street reported neighbors arguing.

Police spoke to two juveniles who were reported walking on ice at the bottom of Wood Street.

A caller from Child Street reported hearing fireworks at 10:13 p.m., right around the time the Patriots won their sixth Super Bowl championship.

Monday, Feb. 4

Eric R. Rosenlof, 22, of Barrington, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Main Street at 1:28 a.m.

A Ridgeway Drive woman reported an intoxicated man causing a scene inside her home.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
