Warren police logs: Turkeys stuck together?

Monday, Feb. 22

Someone complained that a dog was being harmed on Market Street. An officer went to the home and determined that the owner was just playing with the dog.

Residents burning refuse in the open on Child Street were advised of the town ordinance, which requires a permit to burn.

A girl ran away from a Martin Street home. Police caught up with her 11 minutes after the family’s call.

Tuesday, Feb. 23

A Third Street resident reported telephone and text harassment.

Someone struck a goose on Serpentine Road. The bird didn’t make it.

Wednesday, Feb. 23

An Englewood Court woman told police that her and her son’s cars were rummaged through overnight. Nothing was taken, she said. Two similar calls came in from Cottage Street about an hour later, and then from Water Street and Bradford Street.

A caller told police that a truce driving down Child Street shed several tree limbs it had been hauling.

The principal of the Hugh Cole School told police that a student brought a BB gun to school.

A Child Street business owner reported that someone abandoned a bike in front of his business.

Police got a complaint from Barden Lane, about two turkeys stuck together. They were gone upon the animal control officer’s arrival.

A Child Street resident told police about a past sexual assault.

Thursday, Feb. 25

DPW crews were out across town Thursday morning, cleaning up from the strong storm that blew through early in the morning. Limbs and wires were reported down across town.

An erratic driver was reported on Market Street.

A dog got loose and had a run-in with a group of chickens on St. Teresa Drive. None of the birds was injured, apparently.

Friday, Feb. 26

A caller reported seeing a man possibly trying to force a woman into a car in a Metacom Avenue parking lot.

An employee at a Main Street business told police that a man was harassing customers.

Police got a call about a child custody matter on Harris Avenue.

A Water Street resident complained about a phone scam.

Ashley E. Brown, 27, of 28 Davis St., second floor, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

A loud music complaint came in from Sisson Street.

Saturday, Feb. 27

A Union Street woman complained that her boyfriend vandalized her car.

A Lincoln Avenue man told police his neighbor was harassing him.

Christopher R. Cioe, 26, of 109 Market St., second floor, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery and domestic disorderly conduct. Mr. Cioe was charged on a warrant after an early alleged dispute.

Police got a call about a man and woman arguing on Davis Street.

An employee at a Metacom Avenue establishment reported someone trying to use a fake ID.

Sunday, Feb. 28

A Libby Lane resident asked police to disperse her daughter from her apartment.

A Crescent Street resident reported being harassed.

Police got a call about a possible drunk driver on Main Street. Police pulled the car over and noted that the driver was not intoxicated.

Joseph Rioux, 40, of 89 Market St., was charged with domestic disorderly conduct, third offense, and violating a no contact order, after police got a call about a disturbance on Market Street.

Monday, Feb. 29

A Luther Street woman told police that her child was being disobedient.
