A Market Street man reported getting into an argument with his father.
Police stopped an erratic driver at Main Street and Fatima Drive. The driver was apparently having trouble seeing due to the rain.
A Bowen Street woman called police at 10:50 p.m., frightened that she’d been followed home by an unknown man. Police found the man’s car parked near her home but after tracking him down and talking to him, determined that he was just visiting a friend who lived close by.
Tuesday, May 23
A resident drove off from the transfer station on Birch Swamp Road without paying his bill. Police told the man to return and settle up.
Police got a call about a rabid raccoon on Warren Avenue.
A Luther Street woman called police with suspicions that someone broke into her home over the weekend.
A caller told police to be on the lookout for a man driving a blue car on Metacom Avenue. Apparently he may have been clad only in his underwear.
Police got a call about an argument on the bike path, near Norbert Street.
Wednesday, May 24
A caller complained that a man walking around Main Street just after 2:33 a.m. was talking too loudly into his cell phone.
Keith Kelly, 63, of 24 Seymour St., was arrested on a warrant for disorderly conduct and simple assault.
A caller alerted police to the presence of several coyotes on Metacom Avenue.
A caller picked up a hypodermic needle he found on Main Street and handed it over to police.
Police advised Martin Street residents to put out a fire they’d started on their property.
Thursday, May 25
A Davis Street resident reported the theft of an air conditioner.
A Barton Avenue resident spotted a coyote in the back yard and called police. A short time later similar calls came in from Child Street at Serpentine Road.
Police were asked to disperse a drunken person not wanted at a Market Street residence.
Police got a call about a drunken woman heeling obscenities on Market Street at 5:40 p.m.
Police and fire crews werecalled to a Child Street residence, after a tenant who’d been evicted apparently set a rug on fire. The fire chief deemed the apartment uninhabitable, and both the electrical inspector and building official were notified.
Friday, May 26
Police stopped at the home of a resident who’d earlier left the transfer station without paying a $6 bill. Police were called to the home after a DPW employee said the person, who was supposed to deliver the money, never showed up.
A caller alerted police from Child Street that he’d just been assaulted.
A Market Street woman reported receiving a possible threatening text directed toward her and her new boyfriend.
A Munro Avenue woman called police after her ex-boyfrined sent her a text stating “It will all end tonight” and a photo of a gun.
Marcus Goff, 19, of 60 Water St., Apt. 101, was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.
Saturday, May 27
A Schoolhouse Road woman called to report finding what she thought were marijuana plants near her home. Police seized three plants from the wooded area near her home.
A resident complained that four-wheelers were speeding through the Chace Avenue neighborhood.
A caller complained that someone was setting off fireworks on Wood Street, near the bike path.
A Wood Street woman told police she let a homeless woman into her home, and now she wouldn’t leave.
A Davis Street man complained that his ex-girlfirned would not stop texting him.
Sunday, May 28
A caller complained that his two young cousins were harassed by a person on Market Street.
A Beach Street man told police that his child was solicited on Facebook.
Police got a call about a possible drunk driver on Market Street.
Callers from Vernon, Union and Child streets reported fireworks at around 9 p.m.
Monday, May 29
Police got a call after a panhandler stopped traffic on Water Street just before 2 p.m.
A caller told police that a woman drove a car up to her home, stopped, pulled out a bag of trash and dropped it in her trash can. While she didn’t want to file a report, she asked police whether that was legal. Police said the practice was likely not illegal, though it could be considered trespassing in certain situations.
Police got a call about a coyote walking down the middle of Homestead Avenue.
A Strawberry Lane resident reported receiving threatening text messages.
