Warren police: Man calls officers over can opener

Police were called to Church Street for a husband/wife fight, and noted that the husband had been locked out of the house. They told him to take off for a little while to calm down.

A bullying complaint came in from Arlington Avenue.

Someone on Child Street complained that a group of kids were jumping all over a shed.

A Market Street resident reported “harassment by scam artists.”

Police were called down to Church Street for a drunk and disorderly man.

Tuesday, Sept. 29

Items were reported stolen from a car parked on Elmwood Court.

Police got a call about a suspicious man yelling near the Kickemuit Middle School. It was jus a parent trying to get a child’s attention.

Someone stole a flashlight from a car parked on Linwood Court.

A Barden Lane resident complained of a rotten smell coming from the woods. It turned out to be a dead animal.

The animal control officer freed a raccoon trapped in a Dumpster on Kickemuit Road.

Yes, someone complained that men were wearing “fluorescent green shirts” on Metacom Avenue. The call came in at 4:19 p.m.

Someone complained about a woman swearing on Market Street.

Police got a call about a heavily intoxicated man at Liberty and Water streets.

Wednesday, Sept. 30

Someone found a cell phone at Child Street and Metacom Avenue.

Police were called out to Wood Street for a possible fire. It turned out to be a fire pit.

A Hope Street resident reported being harassed by kids.

Scott M. Mullin, 34, of 539 Child St., Apt. 2, was arrested on a Rhode Island Family Court warrant.

Thursday, Oct. 1

Michael P. Harvey, 45, of 325 Cild St., was charged with domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone and domestic disorderly conduct, after police were called to his home for a disturbance.

A Hope Street resident complained about how a neighbor’s car was “sometimes” parked. Not that time, though, and police took no action.

Someone found a needle at Metacom Avenue and Kickemuit Road.

A Long Lane woman reported being harassed.

A Harris Avenue man reported being stalked by his estranged wife.

Friday, Oct. 2

A Market Street woman reported damage to her car.

Three men were reported fighting in a Market Street parking lot just after noon.

Adrian R. Karikas, 50, last known address on Market Street, was arrested on a bench warrant issued from Sixth Division District Court in Providence.

Saturday, Oct. 3

Someone complained about a person sleeping in front of a Metacom Avenue building. Police checked it out and discovered that the “person” was actually a pile of garbage covered by a tarp.

A woman reported possible marijuana use at a Stuart Street home.

Sunday, Oct. 4

A Main Street man called police after letting his neighbor borrow a can opener earlier in the morning. The man told police that he gave the can opener to his neighbor and wanted to be compensated for it. Police told him it wasn’t a police matter, as he gave the can opener freely.

A parked car was struck on Federal Street.

A Fatima Drive asked that an officer help keep the peace while his ex-girlfriend retrieved her belongings.

Kevin C. Dickson, 35, of 18 Pennsylvania Ave., was charged with domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property and domestic disorderly conduct, after his wife reported an argument with him.

Someone complained that kids were throwing eggs at cars passing at Main and Campbell streets.
