Warren police: Narcan used in suspected overdose

Monday, Feb. 19

A Child Street woman told police that a man with a no contact order against him had been calling her from the ACI in Cranston.

A Martin Street woman asked police if her name has been given in any recent accident reports, and if her license was still valid. She explained that her sister has used her personal information in the past, after being pulled over for traffic infractions. Police checked it out and said all was clear.

Wood Street residents told police that a rabbit was on the loose in the area. No word on whether police called on the Holy Hand Grenade.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

A Franklin Street woman complained that she’d been sent a new credit card despite not signing up for one.

A caller complained that contractors at a Highview Avenue home were working without a permit.

A man apparently unhappy with his haircut caused a scene at a Metacom Avenue salon a day earlier, the manager reported. Police said they would attempt to contact the man.

A caller complained about a panhandler on Main Street.

A Davis Street man called police to let them know that her daughter was having an argument with her boyfriend.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

Police were called to Harris Avenue for a child custody matter.

Police picked up Kimberly J. Oliviera, 34, of 7 Arlington Ave., Apt. 3, on two bench warrants issued by Second Division District Court.

Ashley A. Kehoe, 29, of 177 Water St., Apt. 1, was arrested on a bench warrant from Sixth Division District Court.

Thursday, Feb. 22

Rescuers administered Narcan, an anti-opioid, to a woman after her boyfriend called from Child Street to report that she was unresponsive.

A Manning Street resident reported being harassed by a neighbor.

A Water Street woman reported getting into an argument with her mother.

Friday, Feb. 23

A Davis Street woman called police after finding a dead bird on her porch.

A woman complained that her daughter, a Mt. Hope High School students was threatened by another student at the school. Warren police spoke to their counterparts in Bristol about the matter.

A woman called to complain that her son was supposed to pick up her grandchild, but never arrived and was later located at a bar. Police said the child would be staying with the grandmother that night.

Saturday, Feb. 24

A Barton Avenue man returned home to find his back door kicked open.

A deceased coyote was found along Market Street.

Sunday, Feb. 25

Melissa M. Moran, 35, of Middletown, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, first offense.

A Kinnicutt Avenue resident complained about a dog that had been barking for several hours.

A Pennsylvania Avenue resident complained that a neighbor lets his dog roam without a leash.

A Vernon Street woman asked police to check on the well-being of her grandson, who she said was hanging out in cemeteries.

A woman called police at 11 p.m. to report seeing a drunken man crawling, with his pants down, across Market Street. She told police he made it to his car, a black Cadillac, but police got there before he was able to drive and transported him to his apartment.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
