Warren police: Drunk driver found driving on rims of tires

The caretaker of a resident at Kickemuit Village told police that his client had been given a fraudulent check.

A Market Street man asked for advice on how to obtain an order to have a woman removed from the home for good.

The animal control officer responded to a home on Harris Avenue for a “fowl” smell coming from the animals in the backyard. No word on whether they were chickens back there, but the officer noted that a dog found tethered seemed OK. The smell might have come from a pile of manure, the officer reported.

A Davis Street woman told police that a man had been harassing her.

An Asylum Road woman told police a man harassed her after she called the animal control officer about his dog.

A Warren woman was charged with DUI and other offenses after police received a call just after 10 p.m. about a possible intoxicated driver on Market Street. Police found the car driving on its rims on Metacom Avenue a few minutes later, and pulled it over. Driver Chantelle N. Keating, 32, of 29 Laurel Lane, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense (.15 BAC or higher), driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, second offense, and on a bench warrant from Second Division District Court.

Tuesday, May 22

A caller complained about a barking dog on Fatima Drive.

Kristy L. Daponte, 37, of East Providence, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of her license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled her over on Schoolhouse Road just after 8 a.m.

A Kickemuit Road resident complained about loud music.

Wednesday, May 23

Police were called to the Kickemuit Middle School for a disobedient child. The student’s mother was called, and a one day suspension was issued.

A Virginia Street man complained that he was being harassed by a neighbor who keeps calling animal control about the condition of his dog. A short time later, a woman on Virginia reported that her neighbor was yelling at her.

A Main Street woman reported receiving harassing text messages.

Thursday, May 24

A Munro Avenue resident called police after coming home to find the door open.

A caller reported seeing a deer along Main Street.

A Main Street woman complained that people were smoking marijuana outside her window.

The principal of the Hugh Cole School told police that a teacher felt threatened after a third grader stuck out his chest and postured toward her earlier in the day. Police spoke to all involved and reported that it wasn’t a police matter.

A caller reported someone texting and driving on Market Street.

A Main Street woman found a bird that looked dead outside her house, and called police.

Friday, May 25

A deer was struck by a car on Market Street just before 9 a.m. The deer ran off.

Samuel E. Nouel, was arrested on another agency’s warrant after a car stop on Kickemuit Road.

A caller reported that a driver on Main Street was using narcotics.

A Union street resident complained that someone was revving a motorcycle repeatedly.

Police were called to the bike path, near Hope Street, for a report of people fighting.

Laurie A. Piatkowski, 29, of Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense (BAC .15 or higher) after police pulled her over on Arlington Avenue.

Saturday, May 26

Police were called to Metacom Avenue for an argument between father and son.

A caller from Kenny Drive said someone was using “some sort of narcotic” while driving.

Police were called to Water Street, after a man became irate when someone confronted him about leaving his dog in the car.

Roberto C. Ferreira, 45, of Pawtucket, was arrested on a Rhode Island Family Court warrant after police pulled his car over on Market Street.

A Shore Drive woman complained that a neighbor had been burning brush all day.

Dawn C. Walker, 39, of Providence, was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct, after police investigated a car vs. parked car accident at Central and Asselin streets.

A Long Lane resident complained about loud music.

Sunday, May 27

A loose cattle call came in from Birchswamp Road just before 8:30 a.m.

Property was reported stolen from a Child Street home.

A customer at a Market Street establishment passed a counterfeit bill, a caller complained.
