Bids for the Warren’s wastewater treatment plant upgrade project have come in “significantly” above budget, and the Warren Town Council is expected to meet Wednesday night to discuss what to do next.
Warren voters and approved the bonding of up to $20 million to cover extensive repairs and replacement costs at the Water Street plant. But bids for the project have come in as high as $28 million, Warren Town Manger Jan Reitsma said.
“We’re still trying to evaluate” the next move, he said. “the question that is inevitable, is can these things be address short of changing the scope of the project? We’re going to lay that out” at Wednesday’s meeting, he said.
