Here we go again.

Hundreds of East Bay residents were without power Tuesday as Winter Storm Skylar, the third nor-easter to hit the area in the past three weeks, roared through the East Bay in a late-winter blast.

In Warren, scattered power outages started being reported as early as 8 a.m. By 10:30 a.m., hundreds of residents had lost power. The thick, heavy snow coupled with gusty winds and limbs weakened by recent storms coupled to bring down lines from the Barrington line to Touisset.

On Main Street Tuesday morning, Joe Alves worked with a small snowblower to clear the sidewalk in front of a rental house he helps manage.

“Tired of it,” he said, taking a break from the work. “I don’t know why I’m doing this. There’s a lot more snow on the way.”

The storm cancelled school Tuesday, Warren government offices were closed, and the inclement weather was also expected to cancel the Warren Town Council meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. But a decision on that meeting had not been made by press time.
