Wrong number spurs surprisingly angry response

He was just trying to wish his sister a happy birthday, but instead a Barrington man was threatened with a nasty text.

The local man contacted police on Wednesday, Dec. 12, and told an officer that he was trying to text his sister a happy birthday message, but dialed in the wrong numbers.

The unintended recipient grew angry and sent a threatening text message to the Barrington. The local man tried to explain the situation, but the other individual only grew more irate.

Police later tried to call the suspect, but were unable to leave a message. The officer later sent a text message, ordering the man to call back the department.
