Burk re-elected chairman of Tiverton Democrats

Posted

At its recent organizational meeting, the Tiverton Democratic Town Committee (TDTC) overwhelmingly voted to re-elect Mike Burk as chairman. Other officers re-elected were Paul Amaral as vice chairman, Deb Pallasch as treasurer and Andrea Souza as secretary. Linda Jenkins, Deb Janick and Dave Perry were re-elected at-large members of the Executive Committee and they are joined by Nancy Mello and Carol Herrmann.

“I am humbled by the continued support given me by the Tiverton Democratic Town Committee and the faith they put into my leadership over the last 6 years,” said Mr. Burk in a press release. “During this time we have fielded many effective and successful candidates for local office and have been a strong voice for responsible budgeting and sound economic development while protecting the unique character of Tiverton. I have a great team to work with.”

Mr. Burk said the town Democrats will soon begin preparing for the next election cycle for state general officers. “Tiverton has become an essential campaign stop for Democratic candidates running for all of our General Offices during the last six years and I’m sure it will be again during this election cycle.”

During the last two years, Mr. Burk has also served as the president of the RI Association of Democratic City and Town Committee Chairs.
