TIVERTON — Tiverton Town Hall is in the process of getting a new roof. Work started Thursday, Sept. 22 and is expected to take two weeks, with completion targeted for Thursday, Oct. 6.

At its meeting Sept. 12, the Town council approved the award of the contract to S&S Construction of Seekonk for $44,800, with authorization to proceed to $63,350 in order to re-roof flat roof areas that appear compromised where there are known leaks.

The entire project is budgeted for $67,000.

S&S Construction was the only bidder. Bids were opened on August 25. The project carries a 40-year warranty.

At the same meeting, the council voted to award a contract to install a new roof on the Crandall Road Fire Station #3, for $9,350 to Done Right Home Improvement/Design.
